Margin

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

Margin is a mail and calendar app for Mac and iPhone, currently in private testing. It is built privacy first: your email is yours.

What Margin accesses

When you sign in with Google, Margin asks for access to your Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, and files in Google Drive that Margin creates or that you open with it. Margin uses this access only to show, organize, send and sync your own mail, calendar and contacts at your request.

Where your data lives

No analytics, no tracking

Margin contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. We cannot see how you use the app. Margin blocks tracking pixels in the email you receive and never adds read receipts or open tracking to the email you send.

AI features

AI features are optional and off unless you turn them on. If you connect an AI provider you already use (for example, your own Claude account), email content you choose is sent only to that provider, under your agreement with them. Margin never sells or shares your data, and does not use it to train models.

Google API Services

Margin's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not read by humans except with your explicit permission, for security purposes, or to comply with law.

Deleting your data

Signing out of Margin removes its local data from your device. You can revoke Margin's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which also lets you delete the app data Margin stored in your Google Drive.
